The key to our success
In the early 1980's Lektro Mechanical Handling was established to operate as the service arm of a number of forklift suppliers. Within a short period it had gained a reputation for supplying a swift and professional response to any needs of the customer. This good reputation led to some of those customers approaching Lektro direct for their service and rental requirement. In time these customers asked Lektro to supply new and used forklift trucks and a range of other warehouse equipment.
Servicing the operation not the asset
The success of Lektro began in those early days with the understanding that customers had individual service needs. The forklift truck in many warehouses is a basic necessity, no less so than the telephone or the office computer, without the forklift the goods stay on the shelves and the operation grinds to a halt.
In recognising this Lektro understands that not only the level and quality of maintenance is crucial but also the time when it is carried out is important so as not to disrupt the customers operation during the busy periods. Just as is communication with the customer, such as, simple work report sheets and quotes for repairs, to allow him to make decisions on the needs of his forklift fleet.
This is what Lektro mean by servicing the operation of the customer and looking after his needs, and not just turning up to repair the forklift truck asset and going away again.
Total Fleet Management
To service a fleet of forklift trucks effectively needs experience and resources. Lektro has gained the experience in the best possible way, by owning and running its own fleet. Our rental fleet covers a wide range of forklift types in many different applications, throughout the United Kingdom. Sometimes there is one truck on a site, sometimes twenty or more. The one common factor is that they all need regular quality service support to remain cost effective.
As part of the Caterpillar dealer network, we are able to offer the resources of a multi-national player in the market. With ultimately, in excess of 100 service engineers to call on and the technical and product support of Caterpillar to match, Lektro is able to offer solutions to all of our customers needs.
A Service Partnership
To achieve the best possible service support in the eyes of our customers, Lektro believes that it is necessary to build a strong relationship based on a partnership. Our service partnership means that we listen to our customers on an individual basis, down to depot level where necessary. We spend time to discover the needs of the individual and tailor our response to those needs. From the right equipment specification to the correct level of service support the service partnership is ongoing, and communication is maintained to keep abreast of the changing needs of the customer and to continue to match them.
Flexibility
Within large organisations it is often difficult, if not impossible, to change the way systems work to meet the needs of an individual customer. Lektro has throughout its growth remained flexible. We have customers who require that their forklift truck be serviced at a weekend to minimise the disruption to their operation. We have some customers who require that their own drivers should not be expected to carry out checks on their forklift trucks so Lektro is able to take that on as a service on a daily or weekly basis. On occasions customers faced with a one-off high repair bill ask if the cost can be spread over a period of time, Lektro is able to arrange invoicing over two to six months.
